OIL MURAL - ENERGY FROM THE HEARTLAND
Find the Oil Mural at 400 S. Commerce, at the corner of Waterman and Commerce, directly south of the Intrust Bank Arena.
Members of the Wichita Desk and Derrick Club wondered why Wichita, a city with so many murals, did not have a mural honoring the energy industry in Kansas. It took several years to locate a wall for long-term display and to raise the funds needed to make the vision a reality. In 2025, the Energy From the Heartland Mural became a reality.
Visitors to the mural can scan the QR code to learn more about the mural, explore the sponsors who helped make it possible, and discover more about the Kansas oil and gas industry. The companies and organizations recognized through the mural help provide the transportation energy, heating, cooling, and everyday products used by people throughout Kansas.
